Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever Sheffield UK 2018
Here we are stepping out of a long, cold winter. We are all thinking, we could do with some fun…So we have something VERY important to announce. We have oodles of fun for you!
WE WARMLY INVITE YOU TO CHANNEL YOUR INNER CATHY AND JOIN US TO RECREATE KATE BUSH'S ICONIC WUTHERING HEIGHTS DANCE VIDEO IN SOUTH ST PARK AMPHITHEATRE SHEFFIELD ON SATURDAY 14 JULY, 2 PM. OH YES!!!!!!!
Lads, lasses, kiddies, grandmas, pets…if you like dancing, even if you ‘can’t’ dance (there’s no such thing) we would love you to join us for some communal lunacy. Dress in red like the mighty KATE BUSH and wuther like you’ve never wuthered before. Fling yourself about with wild abandon, climb through windows and grab Heathcliff’s soul away. There will be lead dancers to follow on the day, so you don’t have to worry about learning the moves beforehand.
It’s (Yorkshire lass) Emily Brontë’s 200th birthday, Kate’s 60th birthday and the song’s 40th birthday. You will be part of a worldwide celebration – other groups in Melbourne, San Francisco, Sydney, Gothenburg, Dublin (to name a few) will be wuthering all at the same time!
There is no better place to do this than our glorious amphitheatre - a lovely green space in the city with fantastic views. And this is the best bit – it is literally only a few strides from the Sheffield East Midlands train station and the bus station so those of you who are thinking of travelling you could not have a more accessible or convenient location than this one. You could arrive, wuther, and be back home in time for tea. Or maybe make a day of it and explore our city centre?
There will be no food outlets on site, so bring a picnic if you fancy it (there are plenty of eating options in the city centre too of course).
There is no dedicated car parking; on street parking only. We advise using public transport.
The amphitheatre is wheelchair accessible.
They’ll be no changing facilities on site, so you’ll have to be prepared to improvise when you arrive OR simply not care what you look like when you travel (most fun option).
The event will be photographed and filmed, with Press in attendance.
There are no on-site toilets, but there are plenty at the train station.
The event is free to attend. There will be donation buckets on site for the organisers Friends of Sheaf Valley Park, a volunteer not-for-profit group, so that we can cover our licencing costs, insurance, PA hire etc.
You don't need a ticket, just turn up, but it would be good if you could indicate on here if you are coming.
GET IN THE MOOD….
You can get in the mood - and have a huge laugh - by following these video links to the first ever Wuthering Heights day in 2013:

Why not push the sofa back and have a little go now. No one is looking.
We very much look forward to seeing you. Out on the wiley, windy amphitheatre.
